The port of Caen is located in Ouistreham and is the newest of France's ferry ports. It is situated just over 14.5 km / 9 miles north of the centre of Caen. It serve as a key sea-entry to France and a the nearby town has some suitable tourist facilities if you choose to stay on and explore Normandy and the reminders of its important role in WWII.

The ferry terminal offers basic facilities which include a café, bureau de change, toilets and public telephones.


A tourist information desk and a Brittany Ferries desk are also on hand. Disabled access is available for passengers with special needs and wheelchairs are available on request.

Ferry Services


Brittany Ferries operates services from Caen to the English port of Portsmouth. The company provides three crossings per day and has two vessels serving the route.

The regular-speed vessel makes the journey in about 6 hours while the express vehicle is significantly quicker at only 3 hours, 45 minutes. Both vessels are well equipped with passenger facilities and are also disabled friendly.
